Postnatal nursing for new mothers and newborns
The attention shifts to the baby the moment it is born, and the mother's own recovery quietly stops being watched. Our postnatal nursing looks after both: newborn observations, feeding that actually works, and a caesarean or perineal wound checked by someone who knows what a normal fourth day looks like.

What the nurse does
Inside the care plan
Every visit is delivered by a licensed, vetted Ghanaian nurse we employ directly, with a senior clinical lead behind them.
Feeding and latch support
Patient, practical help with positioning, latch, expressing and safe formula preparation where it is needed, with weight and feeding pattern tracked over days.
Newborn observations
Temperature, breathing, weight, jaundice, cord care and nappy output checked at each visit, plus safe bathing and sleeping guidance for the household.
Emotional wellbeing
The nurse asks about mood, sleep and support at every visit and flags signs of postnatal depression rather than filing them under tiredness.
Teaching the family
By the end of the plan the people in the house know how to bathe, feed, settle and observe the baby with confidence.

New mother & newborn care: what families ask
- Do you provide overnight support for a newborn?
- The pattern of visits is agreed with you after the assessment, and can include extended or overnight cover during the first weeks when it is most needed.
- Can you help after a caesarean section?
- Yes. Caesarean recovery is one of the most common reasons families call us: wound checks, pain control, safe lifting and movement, and watching for the infection signs that appear once you are home.
- Is this the same as a midwife?
- Our nurses provide postnatal nursing care at home and work alongside your midwife or doctor rather than replacing them. Antenatal and delivery care stays with your maternity provider; we take over the daily observation and support afterwards.
- We are abroad and paying for our sister's postnatal care. Can we see it?
- Yes. Each visit is timestamped and recorded with observations for mother and baby, shared with the family members you authorise, in any country.
